The 2022 Can-Am Spyder RT is a touring three-wheeler designed for two-up comfort on long-distance rides. Featuring a powerful and low-maintenance 1330cc inline triple engine, the Spyder RT offers a stable and user-friendly experience with extensive storage, premium amenities, and integrated safety systems. 

Engine and performance

Engine: Rotax 1330 ACE inline 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, with electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control.Power: 115 hp at 7,250 rpm.Torque: 96 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm.Transmission: 6-speed semi-automatic (SE6) with reverse function. A manual (SM6) version may also be available on some trims.ECO Mode: A smart assist feature optimizes shifting for better fuel economy. 

Chassis and suspension

Frame: The vehicle is built on a strong Steel Surrounding Spar Technology frame.Front suspension: Double A-arm with anti-roll bar and SACHS Big-Bore shocks for 6.9 inches (174 mm) of travel.Rear suspension: Swing arm with a SACHS shock that includes either manual or automatic self-leveling air preload adjustment, depending on the trim.Brakes: The foot-operated hydraulic 3-wheel braking system features Brembo calipers and 270mm discs on all three wheels, with ABS. 

Touring and convenience features

Storage: The standard RT model offers 31 gallons (117 L) of storage, while the RT Limited and RT Sea-to-Sky models provide 47 gallons (177 L). The top-tier models include a LinQ-compatible top case with a passenger backrest.Infotainment: A large 7.8-inch color LCD display with BRP Connect integrates vehicle-optimized smartphone apps, while the audio system includes radio, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity.Comfort: Features include an adjustable electric windshield with memory, rider touring floorboards, and heated grips. Higher trims add heated seats for both rider and passenger.Lighting: Premium LED headlights and signature LED lights are standard.Towing: The RT models are calibrated for towing a Can-Am trailer, with a towing capacity of up to 400 pounds (182 kg). 

Safety and security

Vehicle Stability System (VSS): This suite of electronic aids, developed with Bosch, integrates Stability Control System (SCS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).Dynamic Power Steering (DPS): This electronically controlled system adjusts assistance based on vehicle speed.Hill Hold Control (HHC): This feature prevents the vehicle from rolling backward on an incline.Anti-theft: A Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.) provides added security.

Spyder RT

: The base model with 31 gallons of storage and a 4-speaker audio system.

Spyder RT Limited

: Includes all RT features plus more premium amenities, including 47 gallons of storage with a LinQ top case, a 6-speaker BRP Premium Audio system, and heated driver and passenger seats.

Spyder RT Sea-to-Sky

: The top-of-the-line model that includes all the Limited features along with exclusive color options and unique trim details.
