This Chief Vintage is a little bit of a conundrum. It is a one-owner bike with about 2K miles on her. Why “about”? We do not know the exact mileage since the wheel speed sensor was not running for years and the mileage shown on the odometer is 56 miles. How do we know it is about 2,000 then? The tires on the bike are original (therefore have to be replaced by the next owner) and show thread consistent with 2K miles of use. The wheel speed sensor is unfortunately a rather common thing on these bikes. It was just replaced and the bike received a full look over. Speedo and Odo work fine now.

This bike has suffered the indignity of having been stored under cover outside for several years and has some signs of corrosion on various parts and chrome bubbling. The seat (as you can see) has been replaced, the bags are still original since they were off the bike for most of their life. The bike is still one of the prettiest bikes ever produced. The perfect balance of modern machine with an amazing motor and the old classic styling Indian is so well known for. Paint is in good condition with the exception of lower edges on the fenders where some paint bubbles are starting.
